Dr. Fitsum Feyissa

Dr. Fitsum Feyissa has more than 20 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering, including material science, data collection, design, modeling, FE simulations, part testing, part manufacturing, visualization, sheet metal forming and failure analysis. He holds a B.Sc. in Manufacturing Technology from Adama Science and Technology University, Ethiopia, MSc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Addis Ababa University, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT D). Dr. Fitsum served as a lecturer at Adama University for over 12 years. Furthermore, Dr. Fitsum has experience in Ethiopian industries including SINTECH, MARU, AKAKI SPARE PARTS & HAND TOOLS S.C and WONJI SHOA SUGAR FACTORY. His work experience includes serving as a process engineer at Tesla Motor Company in California, USA, for the past five years where he is responsible for safety procedures, process improvement, and quality assurance in a highly advanced manufacturing environmental. Dr. Fitsum has authored several articles in his field of study that have widely been cited by other researchers.

With extensive international experience in South Asia, Africa, and North America, Dr. Fitsum has a vast network of professional contacts. As a member of the Ethiopian Society of Mechanical Engineers (ESME), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Indian Society of Mechanical Engineers (ISME), he is involved in numerous engineering societies.

Dr. Fitsum Feyissa is passionate about empowering Ethiopian farmers to be able to use modern technology such as precision farming, advanced irrigation systems, and the use of drones to increase crop yields.
